Which licence do you need?

The two work differently, so this decides how your account is set up.

A seat under an organisation licence. The licence is held by your organisation and seats are assigned to named engineers, approvers and viewers. Projects go through a submit-and-approve cycle: an approver in your organisation signs off before drawings can be issued, and the project quota is shared across the organisation. A single-seat licence, as a solo engineer. You are the only user. There is no separate approver, so you issue, revise and reissue directly, and the quota is yours alone. Everything else — the checks, the drawings, the engineer-of-record responsibility — is identical.

These qualify your request. They are not the agreement itself — you will accept the Terms of Service and the professional-responsibility declaration when your account is created, and again each time you generate drawings. We rely on what you tell us here in deciding whether to grant access, and we may refuse or withdraw access if it turns out to be untrue.

I am a qualified engineer, currently registered with the competent professional authority in the jurisdiction where the bridges will be built, and entitled under that jurisdiction's law to take professional responsibility for such a design. I am covered by professional indemnity insurance appropriate to the work, or I will not issue any drawing for construction unless and until I am. The certification number and details I have given above are true, current and my own. I understand that vada is a design aid: it applies standard tables and geometry, does not exercise engineering judgment, and does not perform site-specific verification. The engineer of record remains responsible for reviewing each design and for all site-specific verification.

What happens next. We verify your professional registration — so please give the number exactly as it appears on your certificate — and come back to you within two working days, agreeing the licence and seats with your organisation, or the single-seat licence directly with you. Your account is created once that is agreed; this form does not create one.
